    Last Date for IGNOU Admission 2024-January Session:

    The last date for IGNOU Online admission for the January 2024 Admission Cycle & IGNOU University’s Distance admission for the January 2024 Admission Cycleis 31st January 2024.

    Scanned Copies of Documents Needed For IGNOU Admission 2024 January Session:  

    Before filling in the form for IGNOU University’s Online admission for IGNOU Admission 2024 January Session, the students are advised to keep ready in advance the scanned copies of the following documents/testimonials:

    1. Photograph ( less than 100KB)
    2. Signature (less than 100KB)
    3. Educational qualification testimonials (less than 200 KB)
    4. Experience Certificate(if any, less than 200 KB)
    5. Category Certificate(if applicable less than 200 KB)

    For IGNOU Admission, the fee can be paid either through a Credit Card (Master/Visa), Debit Card (Master/Visa/Rupay) or Net Banking.

    IGNOU University’s Scholarships for Eligible Students:

    Indira Gandhi Open University, offering a range of academic programmes through Online Mode enables eligible students to apply for Government of India Scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in/ after confirmation of admission. 

    Refund Policy involved in IGNOU Admission:

    In case of application for cancellation and refund of fee, the same will be processed as under:-

    1. 1. The full programme fee will be refunded to students in case the application for cancellation has been moved before confirmation of admission.
    2. After confirmation of admission:

    i)In case the cancellation application is moved within 15 days of confirmation of admission, the Programme Fee paid shall be refunded after a deduction of Rs.500/-.  

    ii)In case the cancellation application is moved within 16-90 days of confirmation of admission, the Programme Fee paid shall be refunded after a deduction of Rs.1000/-.  

    iii) In case the cancellation application is moved after 90 days of confirmation of admission, no refund shall be allowed.

    Registration for IGNOU courses:

    Students aspiring to pursue IGNOU courses in the academic session commencing 2024 need to register themselves with the Online Admission System before submitting their IGNOU Admission Form 2024 Online. Students of Online courses need to furnish their email addresses too. 

    Stages of submission of admission form :

    Candidates need to open the URL (https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in) and complete the Registration by creating the User Name and Password which is informed to them through SMS and email.  

    For the convenience of the candidates, a Centralised Student Registration Cell has been established by IGNOU. Its contact No. is 011-29571301 or 011-29571528. Candidates can email at csrc@ignou.ac.in. as well. 

    IGNOU Assignments:

    Students have to submit IGNOU assignment responses compulsorily before taking term-end examinations and IGNOU assignment-tutor-marked (TMA) responses as well.

    Duly recognised IGNOU Degrees:

    The Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates awarded by IGNOU are recognized by UGC. IGNOU Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates are recognized by all member universities of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and are equivalent to the Degrees/Diplomas/ Certificates of all Indian Universities/ Institutions.

    IGNOU Courses’ Credit System : 

    Credit System of Ignou courses involves assessment of the learning activities: reading and comprehending the print material, listening to the audio, watching the video, attending counselling sessions, teleconference and writing assignment responses. Each credit represents a study of 30 hours. (4 Credits denotes: 4x3=120 hours of study)

    A candidate needs to successfully complete the assignments, practicals, projects and the term-end examination of each course in a programme.

    Indira Gandhi National Open University’s evaluation involves various activities including self-assessment exercises, tutor-marked assignments, practical assignments, Seminars/Workshops/Extended Contact programmes/ Semester Term-End Examinations, and project work.

    1. School of Agriculture (SOA)

    The agriculture sector holds a significant place in the Indian economy, with over 70% of rural households relying on it for their livelihoods, agriculture contribution being around 17% of the total GDP and providing employment for approximately 58% of the population.

    The School of Foreign Languages offers PhD to certificate courses in Arabic, German, Japanese, Spanish and Persian languages.  

    8. School of Gender and Development Studies (SOGDS)

    The School of Gender and Development Studies offers courses sensitising students to gender and related issues.

    9. School of Health Sciences (SOHS)

    The School of Health Sciences provides in-service training for medical, nursing, paramedical and allied personnel through distance mode.

    10. School of Humanities (SOH)
