This blog aims to explore the scope of footwear design courses after the 12th in India. In fact, in our day-to-day life, we use a wide range of leather products tailored in a very stylish and trendy way.

The students who are interested in Footwear design courses after 12th must appreciate the wide range of leather products that include Leather Goods, Travel Ware, Belts, Gloves, Portfolios, Handbags and wallets, Saddlery & Harness, Footwear, and Leather Garment.

Footwear design courses after the 12th provide in-depth knowledge about the two primary methods of tanning leather i.e. the vegetable method involving soaking the hides using natural tannins from trees & the chrome method which involves soaking the leather or the hides in a solution of Chromium Sulphate.

Footwear design courses after the 12th are very much engrossing. Colleges for Footwear design, through their Bachelor in Footwear Design and Master’s programmes, keep students abreast with the global markets and the national and international exhibitions & fashion shows hosted periodically by various organisations.

The scope of the Footwear design courses after the 12th can be judged from the plethora of national and international events taking place around the year where the big brands do their business activities in full throttle.

A layman, while buying a leather purse, wallet, jacket, belt etc. relies on his half-hearted knowledge and blurred and faint memory about the pure leather purchases whatever the shopkeepers narrate to him or her at that time.

But the 4-year Footwear design courses after the 12th impart thorough knowledge about the latest tools and techniques deployed in the leather industry.

The students in the first year of the Footwear design courses after the 12th, easily differentiate between Full-grain leather., Top-grain leather, Split-grain leather, Genuine leather and bonded leather.

A first-year student of Footwear design courses after the 12th can easily tell you which leather jacket is made of the best high-quality leather i.e. full-grain leather as it is the outermost layer which has not been treated or processed in any way.
