Introduction of Engineering Admission 2023
Considering the transformation made by the technological advancements in the fields of Medicine, Health, Transport, Banking and Finance, Aeronautics, Space Research and so on, more and more students after 12th grade are interested in pursuing Bachelor of Technology programmes from the reputed and renowned Institutions in India.
The most prized Institution for B.Tech. programmes is the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) which has itself become a kind of a brand in its own right. Engineering admission 2023 for the prestigious IITs is already over.
The students who aimed for Engineering admission 2023 worked hard with single-pointed devotion from the very beginning by developing a scientific temperament and pragmatic and analytical approach in themselves, which is germane to accomplish the goals and objectives of the calibre of clinching a berth in the coveted IITs.
Focused study of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry subjects is the very core for realising one’s dreams of enrolling oneself in IITs and NITs and IITs and other Government and Private Colleges of repute.
In India, the technical Courses such as B.Tech. fall under the regulatory scope of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
Admissions in B.Tech. courses take place through national-level/state-level/institute-level engineering entrance examinations.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. In order to offer a fair and just opportunity to students, the National Testing Agency conducts Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) in two sessions one in January and the other in the month of April.
Conduction of JEE(Main) in two Sessions gives opportunities to the candidates twice to improve their scores in the examination if they are not able to give their best in one attempt.
From the process of Engineering Admission 2023, it is apparent that a candidate need not appear in both the sessions of JEE. However, if a candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the JEE(Main) NTA Scores is considered for the purpose of drawing the Merit List/Ranking. The two sessions of JEE(Main) are usually held in the months of January and April.
Those who have undergone the process of Engineering admission 2023 are fully aware that the National level engineering entrance exams such as JEE Main are accepted by NITs, IIITs, Government Technical Institutes (GFTIs) and several other private colleges.
JEE(Main) is the qualifying examination for the JEE(Advanced). JEE Advanced is the screening examination for students seeking admission into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Those who come under around the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main are eligible to attempt JEE Advanced. It is thus amply clear that the JEE Advanced is the entrance exam conducted for admission to IITs.
Admission to IITs, NITs, and Government Funded Technical Institutes(GFTIs) is based on the ranks obtained by the candidates in JEE Main.
The Engineering Admission Process, in fact, begins with the onset of registration for the JEE and other exams conducted by various state-level exams. Candidates can join BTech. programme without JEE(Mains).
There are alternatives to JEE mains that include state-level entrance exams such as UPCET, WBJEE, KCET, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, MHT CET, etc..., or college-specific entrance exams such as BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE, or other criteria such as class 12th results.
However many state and private colleges also accept JEE Main scores while following their engineering admission process for admissions to B.Tech. programmes.
The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main), conducted by the National Testing Agency comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.)
At NITs, IIITs, other Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments.
The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced) held subsequently for admission to IITs.
Paper 2 of the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in India
Eligibility Criteria Of Engineering Admission 2023
For assessing the Engineering admission process for B tech admission 2023 government college, the candidates, the first instance, must check their eligibility for appearing in the JEE(Main) for the respective years for seeking admission to the Bachelor of Technology Programme.
Eligibility for b Tech after 12th requires that Candidates who have passed the Class 12 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects from a recognised board, secure a minimum combined aggregate marks of 60% in the above subjects.
JEE Main requires candidates to score a minimum of 75% in Central/State Board examinations for admission to IITs. There is no age limit prescribed for appearing in JEE(Main)
For appearing in the JEE (Main) – 2023, the candidates who had passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or were appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age could appear in JEE (Main) – 2023
B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility for Direct 2nd year Engineering Admission 2023-24
The engineering admission process through the Lateral Entry Scheme for direct second-year engineering admission 2023-24 requires a candidate to have successfully passed a B.Sc. programme or a Polytechnic Diploma after 10 or 10+2 in Engineering to be eligible to enrol in a Bachelor of Technology programme directly in the second year(3rd Semester). BTech Lateral Entry admission is an entrance examination-based admission process.
Lateral Entry Entrance Tests(LEETs) are conducted by State-level education authorities every year. Those who possess a three-year diploma course in engineering can enrol in BTech under the Lateral-Entry Scheme.
Normally, the duration of the B.Tech. programme is of four years, however, for the candidates seeking direct second-year engineering admission 2023-24, it is three years (for lateral entry).
IIT or NIT do not provide lateral entry admissions to the B. Tech. programmes. Candidates can take admission in only the first year after qualifying for JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
Engineering Admission Process for BTech
Various Stages for the Engineering Admission Process for BTech
