Eligibility for B.Tech.admission through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)(Main):
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, the Entrance exam for B.Tech. is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Candidates must be a citizen of India. Foreign national candidates, as well as NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs, can also apply.
For appearing in the Entrance exam for B.Tech. the JEE Main 2024, no age limit is prescribed.
A maximum of three consecutive attempts for JEE Main. The first attempt is taken after the Class 12 board exam, followed by the other two in consecutive years. The exam is held twice a year. A total of 6 attempts are allowed.
Qualifying Exams for JEE Main:
Eligibility for B.Tech. admission through JEE (Main) requires that a candidate must have passed the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognised Central/State Board, such as the CBSE, ISC New Delhi, etc.
Intermediate Science or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board / University.
First-year Examination of a degree course of any recognised Indian University / Institute following a Higher Secondary Examination in the 10+1 system.
Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system
Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
Candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling(NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects.
A Diploma recognised by the AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.

The Eligibility for B.Tech. admission
The students appearing for the JEE Main must have pursued at least 5 subjects with Physics and Maths in their qualifying examinations.
-Eligibility for B.Tech./B.E. requires that the candidate must have studied the subjects:- Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subjects, and any other subject.
-For B.Arch/B. Planning, the subjects are:- Language, Physics, Mathematics (mandatory), Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subjects, and any other subject.
Students who have passed their Class 12 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination in 2022 or 2023 are eligible to appear in the JEE Main 2024.
Students currently appearing for their Class 12 examination or other equivalent qualifying examination in 2024 are also eligible.
Marks obtained in Class 12th- the Eligibility:
The General category candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in their Class 12 board exams, or they must rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examination for getting admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs.
For candidates belonging to a reserved category, a minimum of 65% marks is required to get admission to UG courses offered at IITs, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs.
JEE(Main), the eligibility for JEE (Advanced):
JEE Main is also an eligibility test for candidates aspiring to write JEE (Advanced).
Only the top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify in the Main exam are entitled to appear for the JEE (Advanced) exam.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for 5-year dual degree:
Admission to the Five-year Dual Degree Programmes and 5-year Integrated M.Tech. and M.Sc. Programmes are also made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in all the six Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay/Delhi /Guwahati/ Kanpur/ Kharagpur and Madras) Indian School of Mines Dhanbad and the Institute of Technology BHU Varanasi.
